I’ve never been to Monkeytown, the venue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, but Rob has and liked it.  They seem to have a fun and eclectic mix of events.  Check out their calendar if you’re looking to do something different while you’re in New York. Williamsburg is super close to Manhattan and has great shopping and restaurants, fyi.
